Former Hopkins high school native Zeke Nnaji just became an NBA champion last night. Nnaji’s Denver Nuggets defeated the Miami Heat in game 5 to close out the series 4-1. Nnaji did not really play much of a role in the championship run, but the state of Minnesota is still very proud of him.
He was a rotational player off the bench during the regular season and he averaged 5.2 points per game. Nnaji is still a very young player, and he still has lots of time to blossom in this league. The Minnesota high school hoops fans will always be rooting for him and it was cool too see a Minnesota Native win an NBA championship. Nnaji was the first Minnesotan to win an NBA championship since Devean George did it with the Lakers back in 2002.
Nnaji might be apart of a few more championships in the future due to the unstoppable play of Nikola Jokic. Hopefully Nnaji keeps getting better so the Denver Nuggets will keep him around.
Zeke Nnaji is another talented player from this decade that has helped put Minnesota on the map for high school hoops. He will open even more eyes as he continues to grow as an NBA player.
