The reigning 3A state champions Totino-Grace won in a summer shootout against Minnetonka. Totino-Grace looked very impressive after losing some of the top seniors in the state including Ohio St. signee Taison Chatman. After this showing, I think I can confidently say that Totino-Grace has reloaded their squad. They have some of the best young talent in Minnesota and it looks like their dynasty is going to continue for a few more years to come.
Standouts for Totino-Grace
Tyler Wagner continues to show why he is one of the top players in Minnesota for the class of 2025. He finished with 25 points on 8/14 shooting and he also shot an outstanding 7/8 from the free throw line. Wagner was scoring from all three levels of the court. He was connecting on 3’s, hitting post fadeaways, and finishing very well through contact. The 6’6 guard might have a huge breakout year ahead of him for Totino-Grace.
Chace Watley and Dothan Ijadimbola both had outstanding games for Totino-Grace as well. Chace Watley, another top 2025 recruit for Minnesota, showcased his great shot-creating skills and he finished with 20 points on 8/14 shooting. Dothan Ijadimbola finished with 15 points and 8 rebounds. The 2026 recruit did not look like your typical sophomore. His spectacular rim-running abilities helped him throw down some big dunks for Totino-Grace. The 6’5 sophomore looks like the future of the Totino-Grace basketball program.
Standouts for Minnetonka
Minnetonka still looks like they have great potential to make another run at state this year. Their veteran point guard and NDSU commit Andy Stefonowicz looks to have a huge senior season. He finished with an impressive stat line of 28 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. The 2024 point guard continues to prove that he is one of the most versatile players in the state. Stefonowicz was cooking his defenders off the dribble and he finished very well at the rim. He made it look easy versus one of the top teams in the state of Minnesota.
Greyson Uelmen and Isa El-Amin will also play a big role in Minnetonka’s journey back to the state tournament this season. Greyson Uelmen ended up with 22 points and he finished very consistently around the rim throughout the game. Isa El-Amin impressed me a lot throughout this game. The 2025 guard finished with 20 points, 8 rebounds, and a lot of steals. His aggressiveness and IQ allowed him to perform very well during this game on both sides of the ball. He was picking defender’s pockets left and right and he showed off a deep bag of scoring moves on the offensive end.
