Different teams and players have had their spotlight throughout the AAU season but now the spotlight needs to be shined on Team JSizzles. Jalen Sugg’s 17u AAU team finished sizzling hot to end their summer. This team first went 5-0 at the 3SSB championships and then they went 5-0 the next weekend at The Las Vegas Big Time Tournament. In that stretch Team JSizzles defeated notorious AAU programs such as WACG (We All Can Go), Oakland Soldiers, Florida Rebels, and Team Thrill. This dominant run by JSizzles is just another example of why Minnesota is one of the top hoop states in the country.
Team Jsizzle’s was led by the dynamic duo of Casmir Chavis and Chiang Ring, both players are upcoming seniors for Park Center High School. Each of them gained multiple division one offers over the two weekend period.
Casmir Chavis is a 6’2 combo guard that electrifies the court when he steps on it. He is truly one of the most underrated players in the whole country. Chavis’ speed and finishing ability make him a monster in transition, over the two weekends Chavis was seen on multiple highlight reels after he finished some unbelievable poster dunks. He also has improved his shooting and his on-ball defense looked great over the two weekends. Chavis picked up offers from Georgia, San Diego, and Fresno State. He definitely proved that he is much more than a 3 star with his big time performances.
Chiang Ring grew his stock tremendously over the two weekends. I believe he only had one division one offer before the tournaments and after he finished with 7. The 6’9 wing was putting all of his skills on showcase for Team JSizzles. Some scouts even classified him as the best shooter over the two weekends, as he converted around 40 percent of his threes. Ring is an inside-out scorer, he can beat you from three and he can beat you in the paint. Due to his size, he is also a major lob threat and he also excels at shot blocking. I definitely believe that Chiang Ring deserves much more than just a handful of mid-major offers.
Some other notable performers for JSizzles were Greyson Uelmen, Jayden Moore, Aidan Memene, and Teysean Eaglestaff. All of these players made big contributions throughout the weekends and they each had some buzz around them on Twitter. Jayden Moore is only class of 2026 so he played for the 16U and the 17U teams and he lit up the 16U competition. Moore stabilized himself as one of the top players in 2026 and he also gained an offer from Illinois.
Team JSizzles ended the summer as Minnesota’s top AAU team in my eyes. I thought Howard Pulley would hold that crown but JSizzles snatched that away after a strong finish. Big time performances from Casmir Chavis and Chiang Ring helped take Team JSizzles to the next level. They were unstoppable going against some of the top AAU programs in the country and yet there highest recruit was only a 3 star. Team JSizzles showed the country why Minnesota has some of the most slept on hoopers.
